Recently discovered this place on Grubhub. (It was a bodega when I was going to school across the street. It has been a while!)
The pizzas are *huge*. Pizza is a very personal thing, but I really like the ratio of sauce, toppings and gooey cheese on a slice you have to fold in half to eat. Order a couple if you're having a party to keep everyone happy and fed. I'm working my way through the sandwich menu; the chicken salad with bacon is very tasty. Tried the onion rings today and they're thick cut (so you actually get onion in your onion rings), well breaded and crispy, and come accompanied with a spicy mayo. Yum! -

I ordered an Italian sub with everything. I got a sub with one slice of each meat and stuffed with mostly lettuce and hots. It wasn't very good.

The staff is super friendly. I got the onion rings and I would highly recommend trying them . The rings come with boom boom sauce which is perfect for spice lovers. I would go back there again and try something else on the menu.

I want to live next door... or maybe not because I would order too much from here.
Between two people, we ordered the blue, the Conan, and a fresh slice of cheese pizza. Holy smokes, for a cheap price you get a ton of food! The sandwiches were hot and fresh, loaded with meats, cheeses, and toppings. This place definitely makes my heart happy and would happily come back. -

Even though I grew up in Brookline , I never made it into this place until today. I always see it hoppin' with firemen, police, EMS getting their lunch orders so naturally I was curious.
I was in the mood for an Italian sub so that's exactly what I ordered. The woman who took my order was Ok, not really friendly and definitely not bubbly , which is fitting because this isn't that type of place. I asked her how the italian sub was, and she bluntly said, "I have no idea, I don't eat anything Italian." Well, she's honest, right? Can't knock her for that.
Inside the place itself is cool, old fashion but redone tin ceiling which I love. Finished glossy wooden counter tops to really give that old time feel. Though they do have a modern soda dispenser and fridge with a selection of beverages.
My order came up quick , like 5 min, despite how busy they were. And the sub was pretty good too! Lots of oil and vinegar...mmm
Next time I'm craving a sub with a side of no nonsense attitude, then The Spa is my go-to place
